What each visit checks
| When | What happens |
|---|---|
| Next day | Healing, the flap (after LASIK), pressure and your sight. Bring someone to drive. |
| About a week | Surface healing; after LASEK or PRK the bandage lens may come out around day four or five. |
| Three months | How settled the result is, dryness, glare at night. |
| A year | The final result, and whether a top-up would help. |

What later visits cost
Once the included period ends, a check costs about €120 to €230 at some clinics, or €100 to €230 at others. Ask before you book, not after.
Getting to them
Most of Dublin's laser eye clinics are in the city centre and in south county Dublin around Sandyford and Carrickmines, both on the Luas Green line. If you are on the Green line, the later visits are easy by Luas. For the next-day visit, get a lift.
Between visits
- Use the drops on schedule, and lubricating drops often.
- Don't rub your eyes; wear the shield at night for about a week.
- No swimming for two weeks, including the sea.
- Ring the clinic if anything gets worse instead of better.
