Where are the laser eye clinics in Dublin?
Most of Dublin's laser eye clinics are in the city centre and in south county Dublin around Sandyford and Carrickmines, both on the Luas Green line.
Can I drive home after laser eye surgery?
No. Arrange a lift or a taxi, and don't drive until the clinic says your sight meets the standard, usually after a day or two for LASIK and up to a week for LASEK or PRK.
How many visits will I make?
About six: the assessment, the treatment, the next day, about a week, and later checks at three months and a year.
Is LASIK right for everyone?
It has the quickest recovery, but it isn't right for every eye. Thin corneas, dry eyes and contact sport often point to LASEK, PRK or SMILE.
Do I get tax relief?
Yes. Revenue gives 20% relief on laser treatment for defective eyesight. Claim it in myAccount.
Who contacts me if I send the form?
One Dublin eye clinic, not five. They contact you to arrange an assessment. Nothing is booked until you say yes.
